~> Ocean Adventure

This day was probably one of the best I had in my life. We went to Subic Ocean Adventure with my uncle’s treat, then celebrated New Year’s Eve with my cousins and all other relatives with Media Noche and firecrackers.

Going to Subic took about less than an hour, much less compared to what we used to had before since the SCTEX road was built for shorter routes. So I have been to Subic many times but this was my first time to Ocean Adventure. We went through the forest-thick roads as we admired the ocean scenery at the other side of the car. It was perfectly calm and powdery blue, and I felt like I wanted to go to beach instead!

And soon we arrived at the huge and almost-empty parking lot area beside the venue. We fell in line, bought our tickets, then went to their aquarium displays first since we still had time before the first show.

I took some photos of the marine animals but some of the are really blurry. :(

A really huge hermit crab! I used to buy small ones of that outside my school. :)

Nice camouflage

Then we went towards the location of the first show. But before we arrived there, we had some mini picture-taking along the pathway. :)

And so we arrived at the amphitheater. They made some nice introductory songs (almost like rap) and dances about Ocean Adventure, marine life, saving the Earth through simple ways, etc. There were also two trampoline guys who performed an action comedy show which made me watch in awe!

Next location was Seaside Stadium.

An intelligent bat who performed some tricks for us. :)

A very small and cute owl

This was my favorite show: Sea Lion Marine Patrol. The program was about a sea lion who wanted to enroll in the Marine Patrol but first he had to prove himself worthy by performing tricks. Somebody from the audience could also participate but he/she have to challenge the sea lion. Of course all of these were just for fun. The sea lion and the speakers also taught us how to save the environment through 3R. The whole theme of Ocean Adventure is advocacy of saving the Earth and marine life.

I can't do that stance for sure.

Reduce, reuse, recycle

Smile :)

After lunch, we went to the last show of the day: Dolphins! To be honest, the dolphin show here is way better than Sentosa in Singapore.

The dolphin trainers

"Walking" on the water

Make dolphin a surfboard?

Saying bye-bye!

It was a hot and windy afternoon after the show so we bought ice creams. Then we went home and we saw some monkeys passing by the roads. :) It was a great morning at Subic!

We just bought about 17 albino rats for our laboratory experiment and they’re all so cute! I love their red eyes and super adorable faces. They’re a bit smaller than what I expected since we also had a rat last time which was about 10 inches long but it died due to too much sedation.

This is my favorite shot. :D

It has been a hard year.

In spite of the difficulties and tragedies we faced, maybe most of us are still laughing and spending our Christmas eves comfortably with our families in the Noche Buena. But some are unfortunate.

Even though we are currently suffering or not, let’s cherish this special night that God the Father have planned for our salvation; the birth and coming of our Savior Jesus Christ. This is the true and real meaning of Christmas, where God has given each of us a Hope that we could be saved.

So let us share their burden and pray for them that they may find this Christmas a meaningful, joyous and hopeful day.

Maligayang Pasko!

A Merry Christmas to all!

I did it since when I was in Grade 3 I think... using MS Paint. So it's really a mess. :D

Whew!  I just came home a few hours before I posted this entry and you could just imagine how happy I was. It was hell when I was still in the school dormitory; there was no Christmas feeling at all. I began to felt it when I had attended our class party. It was really fun, I forgot all my worries! I especially enjoyed singing with videoke together with my classmates; our goal was to be the highest scorer.

Though Christmas season is here, my mind is not yet completely in vacation. I still have to pass a lot of requirements next year. Oh well.

Here’s my wish list:

1. DLSR Camera: I really love photography obviously if you know me well. But I can’t afford to buy it for now, so I’m using a camera cellphone for my photo pleasure.

2. Cute pair of Guinea Pig: I have all what it needs to take care a pair of guinea pig, what I lack is the animal itself. They’re really fascinating creatures; very cute.

3. Chopsticks: Metal is better, though wooden is fine too. Metal chopsticks is Korean tradition and what I heard from Dae Jang Geum, it can detect poison in your food.

4. Big set of Crayola crayons: A 128 set or more would be really great. I love art stuff.

5. Any interesting books/manga: I also like reading once in a while but I can’t afford to buy if it’s not required. I prefer fiction. Here are some of the titles I’m looking for:

  • Geisha, A Life / Geisha of Gion by Mineko Iwasaki
  • Geisha by Liza Delby
  • Suikoden III Manga Volumes: 1, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11

I also wish a happy and complete family bonding. :D

All right! Of course I’ll be giving some gifts for my friends too. Christmas is the season of giving and receiving.

Merry Christmas! Maligayang Pasko!

~> Practicing Hangul

I’m more of a Japanese enthusiast than a Korean since there is a part of their tradition which I really like. However, I’m a bit lazy in studying their so-difficult-to-learn language. I only know a few words and not even a single syllable of the kanji.

However, I never thought Korean style of writing would be easier. My classmate taught me the Hangul alphabets, together with consonants and vowels and how they are basically formed. I learned pretty fast. :D Here are some of the beginner’s guide in writing Hangul.

But I don’t know a single Korean word so it doesn’t sense much. Still, I would like to use it just for fun.
